In the last post I talked about what device to get as an upgrade for the Nighthawk M5. Obviously it would need service, and I’m not sure if it has the ability to easily be “adjusted” for the service I currently am using. Well, that problem is officially solved for the foreseeable future.
I found out about Computers 4 People the other day. They do really good work and actually offer a very inexpensive 5G service called Shield. This will definitely work for the case as well and for general connectivity on the go without needing to use my phone’s tethering bucket.
This is similar to the Calyx Institute’s Internet membership but at a much lower price and, in my opinion, for a better cause.
The SIM should arrive later this week, so I’ll pop it into the M5 and run a speedtest the day it arrives. The only downside is this plan only works in the continental US, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, which is totally fine.
I actually got a connection request from Dylan, the founder of Computers 4 People, on LinkedIn after I tagged them in a post saying I’d signed up for Shield and praised their mission. Needless to say, I accepted it immediately.
This is a tremendous find for the case’s future, and for that matter, my own personal connectivity needs hinted at in previous posts. Exciting times indeed!
Until next time!
